FAQ

  • Our micro farm is nestled in a wild and scenic river valley just south of Olympia, Washington, in the small town of Rochester. Located near the fertile banks of the Black River, we benefit from rich, well-draining soil and the mild Pacific Northwest climate—ideal for growing premium flowers and breeding exceptional seeds and dahlia tubers right here on our farm.

  • No—we do not use any pesticides or synthetic chemicals on our flowers. While we’re not certified organic, we follow strict organic and sustainable practices rooted in soil health, biodiversity, and natural pest management. Every bloom is grown with care for the environment, pollinators, our customers’ health, and the well-being of our own family.

  • Many cut flowers commonly used in floral arrangements—including some of our favorites like tulips, ranunculus, delphinium, and foxglove—can be toxic to pets or humans if ingested. We do not guarantee that any of our flowers are non-toxic.

We recommend keeping all floral arrangements out of reach of pets and small children, and we are not liable for any harm caused by the handling or ingestion of flowers.

If you have concerns, we encourage you to research flower toxicity or consult with your veterinarian or physician before bringing fresh flowers into your home.

  • Our farm is also our family home, so we are not open to the public at this time. While we would love to share our flowers in person, we currently focus on offering our blooms, seeds, and dahlia tubers through our online store. We appreciate your understanding and support!

  • Yes! We offer wholesale pricing to florists and designers. If you’re interested in purchasing fresh flowers in bulk, please visit our wholesale page to apply for access.

  • All sales are final. Due to the seasonal and perishable nature of our products—including seeds, tubers, and fresh flowers—we do not offer refunds or returns.

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please email us at info@bravebloomsflowerfarm.com within 48 hours of delivery. Include your order number and a photo so we can assist you. Thank you for supporting our small, seasonal flower farm!

  • We guarantee that every dahlia tuber you receive is viable and true to variety, with a visible eye, healthy neck, and firm body.

Please inspect your tubers as soon as they arrive. If there are any issues, email us at info@bravebloomsflowerfarm.com within 48 hours of delivery, along with your order number and a photo of the tuber(s) in question.

After the 48-hour window, all responsibility for storage, weather exposure, pest damage, or other environmental factors falls to the buyer.

  • We take dahlia virus very seriously and are committed to keeping our stock as healthy as possible. Below is an overview of our current virus management protocols:

    • Strict Isolation: All new dahlias brought onto our farm are quarantined, and our seedlings are kept separate from mature plants to prevent potential cross-contamination.

    • Regular Monitoring: We carefully inspect plants multiple times throughout the season, immediately removing any that show signs of virus or appear suspicious.

    • Pest Management: To reduce the risk of virus transmission by insects, we implement an integrated approach using trap crops and beneficial insects to naturally control pest populations.

    • Sanitization Practices: We disinfect our tools between every plant, every time, throughout the entire season—during flower harvest, fall cleanup, and tuber division.

    • Effective Cleaning Solutions: We use a 10% bleach solution to sanitize our tools, a proven method for reducing virus transmission and maintaining healthy plants.

By following these strict protocols, we aim to provide healthy, high-quality dahlia tubers while promoting responsible and sustainable growing practices.

  • As new dahlia hybridizers, we are passionate about developing unique and beautiful varieties, but we believe that plants belong to nature, not to any one person. That’s why we do not require royalties, trademarks, patents, or any restrictions on who can grow and sell Brave dahlias—and we have no plans to do so, ever.

While we fully support other dahlia hybridizers in their own journeys and respect their choices, our philosophy is rooted in the belief that we are simply caretakers of these plants. We are honored to tend to them, nurture them, and share their beauty with the world. Our goal is to make our introductions accessible to growers, florists, and home gardeners without limitations.
